Simulation Update

The ZR simulation dynamics have been updated to better reflect actual behavior on the ISS. In particular, the thrusters are now slightly weaker. You may notice some changes in the behavior of your code in simulation.

The simulation downtimes that have occurred in the past week should be over now.

Is this a change in the max thrust from .12N to .098N? Or what?

Thanks,
Rich.

Correct. The max thrust is now 0.098N.

My circle game is not working anymore... Even changing the max acceleration.
You can't update the simulator 10 days before the european preselection!

Thanks, I was just updating our tutorial. Were there any other significant changes?

That was the only dynamics change.

Hi Marco. The timing of these updates is far from ideal, as it disrupts both Italian preselection and the US middle school program. However, we would rather change it now than have teams go through the season using the old simulation and then find that their code behaves the way your code is behaving now on the ISS.

Thanks for the reply, but if the only change was in the max thrust, why my code doesn't work anymore? There must be something else to consider.

I repeat that the max thrust was the only dynamics parameter that was changed. If you are having other issues, please move this conversation to the Support forum and include a project number and detailed description of what is going wrong.

Marco,

The support forum is the place. If you think that it really is a bug you should report it to the MIT staff with the project #. If you think it may be a code issue you should probably let the ZR Staff do what they need to do and turn to the ZR Community for support. Either post the code in the support forum for general help or if you can't post it publicly, then you could send me the code and I or one of the y0b0tics! programmers will take a look at it and try to help you out.

If you won the whole competition how would react? I think it would be very exciting!
